Does Your Business Have The Right Tools?

As we approach the end of the year, I find myself focusing on next years goals and am mapping out the plan for how we can achieve them. As part of this process, I am re-evaluating our existing toolset to see if it has the capabilities I need to execute, manage and measure to my objectives. During this process, I have found that there are both tools that we have outgrown, and some tools that we are not fully leveraging. While the replacement of tools is a lengthy, expensive and risky endeavor, better leveraging the tools we have in place is usually not. We are already paying or have paid for the tool, and the interface is likely familiar. Using a lesser or unknown capability of the existing toolset may be as easy as simply turning it on or requesting a feature from the service provider. It is a good way to get more value from our existing investment.
