“You can’t have a positive attitude and be optimistic only when things are going your way.” Those wise words were shared with me many times by my business partner Bill Mackintosh, who recently lost his battle with cancer. Bill also ended every email or conversation with, “All is well.” That was his motto. I learned a lot from Bill and work to reflect his optimism every day.

I'm no economist, but I think that the success and growth of our customers is a good leading indicator for the state of the local economy!

As that information piles up, companies need more and more storage. Although the expense of infrastructure has declined, moving your files – or even your business – to a cloud or managed service has become more cost effective than hosting on your own servers on site.

I recently presented to a group of professionals at a regional association meeting and the topic, for the third straight year, was centered on IT security. By a show of hands I polled the audience on who had integrated the most basic preventative measures, encryption and password policies, and the response was minimal.

Most of the monitors deployed in the last 5 years are widescreen varieties, and most of us have them installed in the standard format with two monitors on each desk side by side. However, almost all content on the web and also applications that we use aren’t built for widescreen monitors – they are built for regular old 4:3 monitors.

"It's not in the budget." If you're like most businesses then you've come to embrace this mind set toward many Information Technology expenditures being considered for your organization. In addition to losing sleep over the costs necessary to embrace a new IT direction or change, the fact that you can be blindsided by emergency IT expenditures that can prevent proactive advances can be unsettling as well.
